What is the AMSTI Teacher Portal and how does work?

The AMSTI Teacher Portal is a website designed to give current and future teachers access to services and information they need. Once you create a username and password, you will be able to access all your AMSTI information and training history.

How can I access the AMSTI Teacher Portal?

You can access the portal here or you can go to and click on the teacher portal link.

How strong is my password?

Passwords must be at least 8 characters. Passwords must contain characters from at least three of the following four classes: uppercase, lowercase, digit, and non-alphanumeric (special).

Is my information safe?

We know security and privacy are important to you – and they are important to us, too. Your information is private and secure and requires a log-in in order to access your information.

When should I update my information?

We ask that you update your information at least once a year, preferably during the summer, when school is out and when most changes are occurring. If a change occurs doing the school year, please update your information as soon as possible. The system notifies your regional AMSTI site and will help with ensuring our data is as accurate as possible. This process will make sure materials are not sent to the wrong school or teacher.

What is the ALSDE ID # and why is this field locked?

Your ALSDE ID # is the certificate number given to you after you have completed all the necessary steps to be a teacher in the state of Alabama. AMSTI uses this number as a unique identifier in order to accurately match your certifications to you. This number also helps separate individuals with the same name.

This field is locked because it does not change once the number is assigned to you.

What if my ALSDE ID # is wrong?

First, locate the correct ID # for you here.

Second, contact your regional AMSTI site here and notify them of the correction needed to be made. Your AMSTI site will then update your profile with the correct ID #.

What if I forgot my username & password?

Your username is on the confirmation email you received when you created your profile. If you are unable to find the email you will have to reach out to your regional AMSTI site to retrieve your username.

What if I can’t find the school I’m currently teaching?

First make sure you are searching for the full official state school name. For example: Hard Elementary School is Charles F Hard Elementary School.

If you are still having trouble finding your school, try putting asterisks before & after a word in your schools name. For example: *Hard*

This will bring up all schools with the word hard in their name. (Charles F Hard Elementary School & Orchard Elementary School)

If you still cannot find your school, please contact your regional AMSTI site and they can help you located the school or have the school added to the system.

What does “00” mean under grade on my profile page?

“00” means you are currently teaching kindergarten.

I’m not receiving emails or the emails are going to my spam folder.

All emails come from an email address. We have notified each district technology department to make sure emails are not blocked or sent to spam. If they still are, you will have to contact your district technology department to have them release the emails to you.
