Awards & Recognitions

 

AMSTI has garnered national and international recognition as a model program for math and science instruction.  Here are just some of the numerous awards and citations that have been received.

 

 

  • 2010 - AMSTI recognized as an "exemplary program of best practices in laboratory education" by the Center for Excellence in Education.  AMSTI was one of only six programs recognized at the National Lab Skills Symposium in McLean, Virginia. www.cee.org
  • 2009 - AMSTI was featured in a segment of the National Education Report, a series of programs produced for Public Television and hosted by Hugh Downs.  Producers spent five days taping at AMSTI-USA and surrounding schools.  www.nationaleducationreport.com

  • 2009 - The AMSTI website, www.amsti.org, was recognized by the Teacher Training Resource Bank (TTRB), a peer-reviewed online education journal from Great Britain.  The review described AMSTI and the website as an "ambitious and exciting initiative...with substantial empirical data."  www.ttrb.ac.uk
  • 2009 - AMSTI was featured in four separate articles in Education Week.  One was an in-depth look at the program with a reporter spending several days visiting schools and sites.  www.edweek.org
